Inscriptions inside case (ink): Daguerreotype of Dr. Wm. Towle Souther of Boston (center) as a child with oldest sister Anna and little brother Sam. Father of Mrs. Christine Souther Haskell of Shrewsbury, Mass. He was descendant of a Souther who was 1st lawyer from England to Plymouth Colony. His father, Rev. Samuel Souther volunteered in Civil War, and missing in few days after battle of the Wilderness.
