Entry 517 in Mackay's notebook (located in library): Fine tinted half-plate ambrotype of an outdoor scene in South Sea Islands (Samoa) showing Missionary or Govt. thatched- roof cottage, with several men on porch. Luxurious tropical shrubbery. Very nice. Brot back by Capt. Edgar Waksman on one of his trips to Islands. 3.50 + tax.
