Inscriptions recto (printed in black on opening page): "In this form we are presenting as a report, a by-product of our efforts in the Reconstruction School of Photography at Camp Meade, Md.
There can be no more convincing manner of making our final report. It speaks for itself. -
We have done much good from a therapeutic and vocational standpoint.
Current events have been covered that the entire hospital might derive some benefit from our existence here. We have also coordinated our work with that of the hospital by making photographic records of cases - a few of which are submitted herein.
We have not been content to dabble with things that everyone knows - or can read from books - but have dealt with the chemistry, mechanics, psychology and art of making real pictures of real things with the camera.
In our pioneering here we have worked hard - - we have all worked together. Even now we are making capital of our mistakes.
Let's hope we have set some precedent.
