Inscriptions verso-(applied caption) "18. Embroidered Portieres and Window
Reflection, Maplewood Hotel, 1996. There two embroidered portieres
hang in the lounge of the Maplewood Hotel in Lily Dale. According to
a typed index card hanging next to the tapestries, they were made by
Mollie Fancher while in a 'trance condition'. Ms. Fancher had been
paralyzed and blinded in an accident which left her in a trance state
for 9 years. Her right arm was so rigidly bent, her hand was fixed
over the back of her head. The card also states that another set..."
