Inscriptions Typed in black ink on applied label on verso, BC: 4/62 27) PASSION PROCESSION: for 172 years, the citizens of Caltanisetta \ in Sicily have organized the procession of the "Misteri" on \ Holy Thursday before Easter Sunday. Richly colored life-sized \ statues, representing moments of the Passion Play, are pulled \ through the streets. Each float is in the tradtional custody \ of a trade group: the bakers have the Last Supper, the butchers, \ the Crucifixion. To the beat of funeral dirges, they wind \ through the streets, ending in front of the Cathedral at 2 A.M. \ Credit: David Seymour © 1962 MAGNUM PHOTOS
