DescriptionAlbum containing 199 salted paper prints depicting group portraits; individual student portraits arranged alphabetically in two series; portraits of administrators, professors, and employees of Harvard; and over thirty-five campus views. The portraits of professors are identified by a pencil inscription, all in the same hand and include: Edward Everett, Louis Agassiz, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, James Russell Lowell, and Oliver Wendell Holmes. Many of the student portraits are signed by the individual represented and include the date of birth and hometown. Also included are portraits of the gymnastic instructor Moulineaux Hewlett, the janitor "Clary," and a candy seller named "Niccolo." Album is in poor condition and lacks both covers and spine.
