No. 59 Court Street, Boston, for Lincoln’s 1860 Campaign from Brady negative. Beardless photo of Lincoln similar to no. 18 in Sorant’s Lincoln book of photographers, one of 3 taken by Brady on Feb. 27, 1860 when Lincoln went to N.Y. for his Cooper Union lecture, which helped make him President. This ambrotype may have been taken from no. 18. Also have similar small ambrotype of Prince of Wales taken by Geo. Clark & Co. of Boston in 1860 from Brady negative when he visited the U.S. This Lincoln ambrotype in velvet case #484. Gift of Mr. Starbuck of L.A. Lincoln cost 10.00 at least worth 50.00
