Inscriptions Embossed in gold color on spine of case: Memory's \ Leaflet
Entry 534 in Mackay's notebook (located in library): Handsome 1/6 size dag. case of tortoise shell mounted on covers in wavy corrugated manner. Beautifully marked. Top inlayed in silver morning glories & leaves, and silver shield in center for monogram. Back is leather & stamped gold like a book title is “Memory’s Leaflet contains fine daguer. of Mr. Bishop, probably from Utica, N.Y This daguer. & case cost him $8.00 originally. Probably taken by A.B. Morill of Utica, N.Y. or at least he furnished the silver plate. Lovely (11.25).
