Inscriptions Typed in black ink on applied label, verso BC: (Faces) 12/61 22) INDI'S PEACEMAKER: Jawaharlal Nehru followed his customary \ course through the year: straight down the middle. Here seen at the Conference of "neutral" nations which convened at Belgrade in late August, \ he also visited with Western leaders on his trip to the U.S. and kept constant diplomatic contact with Moscow and Peking. At year's end he was \ finding peacemaking precarious, as China threatened his Northern border \ and India in turn threatedned the Portugese enclave at Goa. \ Credit: Bernard Lipnitzki © 1961MAGNUM PHOTOS
