Entry 407 in Mackay's notebook (located in library): Double book dag. case of lacquer & pearl. Has two ambrotypes, man with extremely high silk hat, long hair, glowing tie & silk ribbon watch hair. Photographed by “Holmes –289 Broadway”. N.Y. The other probably is his wife and tiny daughter. Baby has blue dress, mother’s black silk. Very nice. Says “Bijou” on back binding of cover, which means “jewel” (2.00)
