Printed in black on verso, OA: Globe Diagram A. \ Examine the diagram on this card care- \ fully, both with and without the stereoscope. \ Can you see foreground and background; that \ is, is there any perspective or depth either \ with or without the instrument? \ Both the diagrams on this card are left \ diagrams (intended for the left eye only), and \ that is the reason the stereoscope has no \ effect. That is why there is no binocular \ (two eye) perspective. It is not stereoscopic. \ It is like looking at an ordinary, flat photo- \ graph, or like two ordinary phtoographs, \ taken from the same position with a single camera, mounted on a card and viewed \ through the stereoscope. \ By looking first at this and then at dia- \ gram B, a person will more fully appreciate \ the great difference between a single photo- \ graph or representation and a true stereoscopic \ photograph. \ Copyright 1904, by Underwood & Underwood.
