DescriptionAlbum containing 225 albumen silver prints depicting images from the voyage of the Flying Squadron, a fleet of steam-powered wooden British naval ships. Images depict ships, crews, and landscapes and citizens from locations visited. Art reproductions of the ships at sail are also included. Prints are a variety of personal and commercial photographs. Each print is accompanied by a caption inscribed in black ink. Album has been disbound and many images have been cut from their original pages and remounted. Album and original covers are stored in three separate boxes. An original itinerary of the Cruise is stored with the album covers. Covers are bound in green leather and feature gold debossed lettering.
