DescriptionContains ninety-eight albumen silver cartes de visite depicting identified Philadelphia photographers (including Lewis M. Rutherfurd, Peter Wilhelm Friedrich Voightländer, and Thomas Sully), Philadelphia scenic views, Civil War generals, women and children, and reproductions of paintings and engravings. There is one spirit photo. Images are housed in oval and tombstone pre-cut slots, 6 per page. Many slots are empty throughout the album, including the last 9 pages.Bound in dark brown leather with a red leather label stamped in gold with the title on the front cover. Pages are edged in dark blue with a row of tiny gold stars on all three exposed edges.
