Inscriptions Typed in black ink on paper taped to verso and folded to recto BC: SMOOTH FINISH -- Technician Edward Richard removes burrs from holes in \ a developmental titanium compressor case which has been cast in two \ pieces for Pratt & Whitney's all new technology aircraft engine -- the \ PW4000 -- at it's East Hartford, Conn. plant. The jet engine manyfacturer \ uses castings instead of welding various components together to form \ complete aircraft parts. This helps reduce the number of parts in the \ PW4000 by 27,000 as compared with the compnay's similarly-sized JT9D \ engine for wide-body transorts. -0- \ From: John A.
