Typewritten in black ink on verso, C: LUCILLE (a lot on the) BALL... Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's red haired \ dynamo poses for her latest portrait. Miss Ball [circled in blue crayon], skyrocketed \ to stellar rating on the screen with her performances in the \ two M-G-M Technicolor musicals, "Du Barry Was A Lady" and \ "Best Foot Forward." Now she stars with Dick Powell in \ "Meet the People." The star did just that--meet the folks-- \ on the Hollywood Bond Calvacade, touring sixteen cities in \ twenty-one days and greeting millions of people. Now that \ husband, Corporal Desi Arnaz is in the United States Army, \ the tango-red beauty has the responsibility of their five- \ acre Chatsworth ranch on her slim shoulders. She's a good \ gardener, can run a tractor, and is proud of the fact that \ she is able to sell ten dozen eggs weekly from her ranch to \ her friends on the M-G-M lot. Miss Ball will next star in \ "Ziegfeld Follies," her third Technicolor musical.
