Entry 423 in Mackay's notebook (located in library): Beautiful 4”x5” clear daguerreotype with label inclosed [sic] in case, “Old College building in Texas, Picture taken by W. Cowles.” Fine clear outdoor scene, trees & buildings. Scenes very rare. Found in antique in Santa Barbara and gift of Mrs. Theodore Labhard of Geary St. nr. Divisadero. (2250 Geary St.) Gift Oct. 18, 1941.
